Now the problem is, artists love the idea of subverted innocence. There's something about putting pure, sweet little children in an image that instantly makes the dark stuff more creepy and disturbing. But the idea that any sane person is going to hang these, admittedly great, artworks in a child's room is what worries me. Because it's one thing to paint subverted innocence, but actually subverting it? In the form of giving your child nightmares, all in the name of being a hipster parent? That's not edgy. That's just evil. There's a fine line.
